Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1900. Fine gold and enamel, keyless form watch designed as a cicada, suspended from a matching gold and enamel chain.

Three part, underside realistically chased and engraved with legs and underbody, wing covers entirely decorated in two tone translucent red champleve enamel over engine-turning, the thorax with black champleve enamelled decoration, spring loaded wing covers hinged and opening from a button in the base to reveal the dial. D. Matted silver with Arabic numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Glazed 6"', nickel plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. In very good condition. Dim. 55 mm. overall, 25 mm. wide.
