Bovet, Fleurier, Swiss, No. 776, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1840. Fine 18K gold and enamel, pearl set centre seconds watch.

Three body Empire with split-pearl set bezels pendant and bow, the band with mauve champleve enamelled decoration, the back enamel panel painted with a fine composition of Summer flowers over a mauve ground (slightly restored on the border). Hinged gold glazed cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Gilt brass, "Chinese" calibre fully engraved with a foliage decoration, free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement with steel escape wheel and three-arm balance with wedge shaped and partly blued steel weights, flat balance spring and regulator. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
