Unsigned, German, circa 1620. Very fine and rare gilt brass, rock crystal and enamel pre-balance spring watch with stackfreed.

Double body octagonal with faceted rock crystal cover and back, one piece gilt brass frame with hatched pattern decoration and button finial, loose ring pendant with pierced and foliate engraved base. D. Hinged octagonal dial plate with applied silver dial decorated with flowers in translucent champleve enamel and black enamelled Roman chapter ring. Single engraved gilt brass hand. M. Oval gilt brass full plate with turned baluster pillars, open spring with foliage engraved guard, short train, verge escapement with plain steel balance without spring and hog bristle regulator of pierced floral pattern, gilt brass irregular shaped pierced and engraved cock, curved polished steel stackfreed wheel with foliage engraved cam and brass stop wheel with blued steel pinion.
