J. Arnold, Ch. Frodsham, 84 Strand, London, No. 1796, with London hallmarks for 1847. Fine and highly unusual 18K gold stop watch with an early form of split seconds.

C. Three body, "pomme et filets", by Frederick Samuel (Master Mark) with integral dome, polished. D. Egg-shell enamel with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds and split seconds on chapter "XII" (hairline). Blued steel "spade hands". M. Hinged frosted and gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain and maintaining power, English pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with diamond end-stone, blued steel flat balance spring with regulator. The two subsidiary seconds hands are mounted on the same arbor, one of them fitted with a wheel and a spiral spring in such a way it can be stopped at will and join the running one as soon the stop button is released. Signed on the dial and back plate. In good condition. Dram. 50 rum.
