Maurice Ditisheim, Swiss, Nos. 3837 and 3889, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1900. Two very rare, and very similar, 18K gold and enamel, hunting cased, pearl set, very small, minute repeating, keyless watches, sold as a pair, in a red leather fitted box.

Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", red enamelled bands with paillonne decoration, splitpearl set bezels, the covers with painted scenes depicting a gentleman presenting a rose to two young ladies, outer translucent red enamel over engineturning. The backs with portraits of two young ladies. Gold cuvettes. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XV hands. M. Glazed 11'", gilt brass, 29 jewels, counterpoised adjustable straight line lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Maurice Ditisheim's trade-mark punched on the cases. In very good condition. Diam. 34 mm.
