S & F/D (Master mark), Geneva, circa 1785. "Serenade" Fine 18K gold and enamel oval snuff box.

Double body, the blue flinke enamelled lid with white champleve and paillonne decoration on the border and centred with a paillonne framed rectangular finely painted pastoral scene, depicting a young gentleman playing the serenade to a shepherdess, the band and base decorated en suite. Maker's mark inside the box and the lid. Dim. 74 x 51 x 23 mm.
