Berlin, circa 1730, the lid with an enamel panel attributed to Freres Huaud painted circa 1700. "Les victimes de la tentation" Very fine and rare 22K gold mounted snuff box with enamel paintings on copper.

Double body, the gold mounting chased with foliage decoration, the enamel panel on the lid painted with a scene depicting David observing Betzabee at her bath; the other enamel painted scenes featuring: Samson and Dalila on the front, Loth and his Daughters on the left, Judah and Thamar on the right, Joseph and Botiphar on the back and Susan and the Eldry on the base. Dim. 73 x 52 x 36 mm.

Huaud Freres, Jean Pierre et Arni
Sons of Pierre Huaud I, associates from 1682 to 1688. They were
appointed painters to the Court of Prussia in 1686, and went to
Berlin. In 1686 they signed '< Les deux freres Huaut Les Jetines,,;
after 1686 «Les Freres I-luaucl , or <' Les deux freres Huaucl» with
the addition of or «Les deux
freres Huaub> or
