A commemorative medal in gilded bronze, made in 1905, by Ludwig Christoph Lauer, Nuremberg, struck in honour of Peter Henlein (1479/1485-1542) and the birth of the portable watch.

In this copy, only the obverse is struck; there is no reverse.

On the obverse, the inscription: “Peter Henlein Erfinder der Taschenuhr um 1505” (Peter Henlein Inventor of the pocket watch around 1505).
