Biography
Mappin & Webb is an English and international jewellery, tracing it's origins to a silver workshop founded in Sheffield in 1775, 250 years ago.
Mappin & Webb has created jewellery for royalty and high society, both in the United Kingdom, and internationally with a prestigious range of important clients such Her Majesty the Queen of France Marie-Antoinette, the Empress of Russia, and the Princess Grace of Monaco.
Queen Victoria was the first British monarch to commission Mappin & Webb to celebrate her Golden Jubilee, with a necklace created by the house in 1888, and was designated by the Queen as an heirloom of the Crown.
Mappin & Webb has held Royal Warrants in the UK since 1897.
The present Watch, from the 40's, was made by the prestigious House, and is powered by an excellent Vacheron Constantin manual winding movement.
