Notes

The young Italian watch company Maranello presented its first collection of wristwatches under the name “V8” which is symbolic for Ferrari admires. The brand’s designer and General Director Maurizio Mazzocchi noticed that every Maranello watch is just pure adrenalin hidden into the metal like every model of Ferrari.
The first “Chronograph Diver Flyback Chronometer” model is a chronograph for diving. The watch is water-resistant to 200 metres and equipped with a rotary ring using during submersion into the water. The model is designed on the basis of the certified COSC calibre Maranello “Mar 05”.
The “Chronograph Tricompax PVD” model with a massive case of a 45 mm. diameter is a part of the wristwatches for men. The chronograph operates on the basis of the automatic calibre Maranello “Mar 06” that in point of fact is considered to be the advanced Valjoux. Its power-reserve is 48 hours. The technical characteristics allows to dive at the 100 metres depth. A bezel is equipped with the minute scale. A guilloché (engine-turned) dial is made of hydrocarbon fibre. A case is of two variants: rose and white gold. A strap is made of genuine alligator leather or a rubber. Luxurious models of the limited “Chronograph Tricompax Rose Gold” collection have the same technical features as of the “Chronograph Tricompax PVD” collection but water-resistance is lower – only 30 metres. The line consists of 27 models with a goldish dial and 28 models with a chocolate colour dial.

At a charity auction held for the benefit of AIRC (Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro – Italian Association for Cancer Research), in Milan on November 24, 2007, Antiquorum sold the first “Red Model Maranello V8” model, a chronograph wristwatch from a limited series of 28 pieces.

Maranello is a town and commune in the province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy, 18 km from Modena. It is known worldwide as the home of Ferrari and the Formula One racing team, Scuderia Ferrari. Maranello was also home to coach-building firm Carrozzeria Scaglietti, owned by Ferrari.
