MEURON GRANDE & PETITE SONNERIE PENDULE D'OFFICIER Meuron & Comp., (Neuchatel), movement No. 1976. Made circa 1800. Fine and rare, gilt-bronze Grande and Petite sonnerie striking Pendule d'Officier with pull-wind alarm and calendar.

Gilt bronze, stepped base with paw feet, bezel with repeated pattern, the pediment and side panels with applied musical trophies, leaf and ribbon and cornucopia decoration, hinged serpent handle at the top, pierced back door for sound emission, striking and silence lever in the base. White enamel with Dauphine numerals, outer minute track and fifteen-minute numerals, inner date ring. Fancy gilt-brass hands. Circular 100 mm. gilt brass with cylindrical pillars, two spring barrels for the going and striking, verge escapement, vertically-mounted brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass spoked continental cock with polished steel end-piece, index regulator, striking of Neuchâtel type on two bells with the striking work fitted on the back plate, pull wound alarm.
