Notes

Montblanc, “Alexandre Dumas”

Montblanc created this pen in 1996 in honour of Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870) père, in a limited and numbered edition of 20 000 examples. The fifth of Montblanc’s “Writers Edition”.

Fashioned of brown and marbled grey precious resin with gold-plated fittings and inlay, this pen is adorned with subtle references to Dumas’ most famous works.

A number of examples of this edition were inadvertently adorned with the signature of Alexandre Dumas’ son. A mistake that makes this version a particularly sought-after rare object!

The ball-point-pen was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 16 000 examples.

The mechanical pencil was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 9 000 examples.

A set of three writing instruments, comprising a fountain-pen, a ball-point-pen and a mechanical pencil, was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 5 000 examples.
