Notes

Montblanc, “George Bernard Shaw”

Montblanc created this pen in 2008 in honour of Bernard Shaw (1856-1950), in a limited and numbered edition of 16 000 examples. The seventeenth of Montblanc’s “Writers Edition”.

The pen’s design was inspired by Eliza Doolittle’s character in Pygmalion (which later became, in 1956, the musical, My Fair Lady), with a deep-green marbled lacquer finish and increasingly wide platinum-plated rings, representing her transformation from Cockney flower girl to lady.

The ball-point-pen was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 18 000 examples.

The mechanical pencil was produced in a limited and numbered edition of … 000 examples.

A set of three writing instruments, comprising a fountain-pen, a ball-point-pen and a mechanical pencil, was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 4 000 examples.
