Notes

Montblanc, “Catherine II. the Great”
Montblanc created this pen in 1997 in honour of Catherine II. the Great (1729-1796), who presided over the Russian Enlightenment, one of the principal modernisers of Imperial Russia, in a limited and numbered edition of 4 810 examples. The sixth of Montblanc’s “Patron of Art Edition”.
The pen (body and cap) is crafted of aubergine resin with a rose gold-plated overlay and ornaments. Engraved laurel leaves decorating the cap.
All reflecting the many classical structures built under her reign. This magnificently ornamented instrument recalls the splendour of her court. Catherine and her predecessor, Peter, paved the way for the Russian cultural renaissance, fostering writers, artists, and architects.
