Montblanc, “François 1er”

Montblanc created this pen in 2008 in honour of François I. (1494-1547), King of France (1515-1547), one of the most important figures in the development of Renaissance art, who drew great artists including Leonardo da Vinci into the French court, in a limited and numbered edition of 4 810 examples. The eighteenth of Montblanc’s “Patron of Art Edition”.

The barrel of the pen is made from golden-brown shimmering tiger’s-eye, and the deep-black precious resin cap’s gold-plated fittings are elaborately engraved in the Renaissance style.

A diamond-encrusted version (“Ateliers privés” series) of this fountain-pen was made in a limited edition of 8 examples.
