Montblanc, “François 1er”
Montblanc created this pen in 2008 in honour of François I. (1494-1547), King of France (1515-1547), one of the most important figures in the development of Renaissance art, who drew great artists including Leonardo da Vinci into the French court, in a limited and numbered edition of 4 810 examples. The eighteenth of Montblanc’s “Patron of Art Edition”.
The barrel of the pen is made from golden-brown shimmering tiger’s-eye, and the deep-black precious resin cap’s gold-plated fittings are elaborately engraved in the Renaissance style.
A diamond-encrusted version (“Ateliers privés” series) of this fountain-pen was made in a limited edition of 8 examples.

The purchase price payable by a buyer will be the sum of the final bid price plus
the buyer’s premium, together with any applicable sales or compensating use tax. In addition to the hammer price, the buyer’s premium is payable as follows:
25% of the hammer price on each lot.
