Montblanc, “Luciano Pavarotti”
Montblanc created this pen in 2015 in honour of Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007), in a limited and numbered edition of 4 810 examples. The twenty-fifth of Montblanc’s “Patron of Art Edition”.
The pen’s design evokes Pavarotti. The pen body (barrel and cap) in precious black and white lacquer recalls the image of the classic singer with his black dinner jacket and white shirt. The clip refers us to his scarves, while the red lacquered cone and turquoise coloured cabochon reminds us of the typical Hawaiian shirts that Pavarotti wore after his concerts. In the lower part of the cap, five rings are placed in homage to the famous operas that made Pavarotti world famous, Turandot, La Bohème, Rigoletto, Un bal in marchera and L’Elisire d’amore. They also symbolise the five balconies of the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena built in honour of the tenor.
