Notes

Montblanc, “Ludwig II”
Montblanc created this pen in 2018 in honour of Ludwig II (1845-1886), King of Bavaria (1864-1886), in a limited and numbered edition of 4 810 examples. The twenty-eight of Montblanc’s “Patron of Art Edition”.
The barrel is crafted in blue lacquer in the colour of the uniform that the monarch wears on his most famous portrait. The cap in white guilloché (engine-turned) lacquer is reminiscent of the swan feathers from Richard Wagner’s Lohengrin saga, whose work number “WWB 75” is engraved on the ring of the cap. The clip is in the shape of a swan’s neck and head. The fine engraving on the cone represents the imprint of the royal seal which also inspires the crown adorning the top of the cap.
