Montblanc, “F. Scott Fitzgerald”

Montblanc created this pen in 2002 in honour of Francis Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940), in a limited and numbered edition of 18 500 examples. The eleventh of Montblanc’s “Writers Edition”.

Crafted from white marbled resin edged in gleaming black and striped with bands of sterling silver. The style perfectly captures the energies of Fitzgerald’s Jazz Age.

The ball-point-pen was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 16 500 examples.

The mechanical pencil was produced in a limited and numbered edition of … 000 examples.

A set of three writing instruments, comprising a fountain-pen, a ball-point-pen and a mechanical pencil, was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 4 500 examples.

Fitzgerald, Francis Scott Key
September 24, 1896 – December 21, 1940

American novelist, essayist, screenwriter, and short-story writer, author of The Great Gatsby. He was best known for his novels depicting the flamboyance and excess of the Jazz Age – a term which he popularized. During his lifetime, he published four novels, four collections of short stories, and 164 short stories. Although he temporarily achieved popular success and fortune in the 1920s, Fitzgerald only received wide critical and popular acclaim after his death. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century.
