Montblanc, “Mark Twain

Montblanc created this pen in 2010 in honour of Mark Twain (1835-1910), in a limited and numbered edition of 12 000 examples. The nineteenth of Montblanc’s “Writers Edition”.

Dark blue precious resin pen body with sinuous lines suggesting the swirls and currents of the Mississippi, cap design reminiscent of an old steamboat chimney, and platinum-plated clip.

The ball-point-pen was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 15 000 examples.

The mechanical pencil was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 6 000 examples.

A set of three writing instruments, comprising a fountain-pen, a ball-point-pen and a mechanical pencil, was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 3 000 examples.

November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910

American writer, humourist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. He was lauded as the “greatest humorist the United States has produced”, and William Faulkner (1897-1962) called him “the father of American literature”. His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), the latter often called The Great American Novel. His wit and satire, in prose and in speech, earned praise from critics and peers, and he was a friend to presidents, artists, industrialists, and European royalty.
