Notes

Montblanc, “Peggy Guggenheim”

Montblanc created this pen in 2016 in honour of Peggy Guggenheim (1898-1979), in a limited and numbered edition of 4 810 examples. The twenty-sixth of Montblanc’s “Patron of Art Edition”.

The body of the pen (barrel and cap) is inlaid in black lacquer with platinum-plated motifs inspired by Art Deco. The spiral red lacquer inlay on the cone is reminiscent of the striped mooring posts of the Venetian canals. The lion heads on the ring of the cap evoke Peggy Guggenheim's Venetian palace, while the linear clasp is a re-interpretation of Art Deco.
