A fine, rare, and limited edition fountain pen. Montblanc Writers Edition Voltaire: Limited to 20,000 pieces (1995). The barrel is crafted from black resin and adorned with finely detailed vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver) fittings, including the ring, clip, and trim. The 18K gold nib is engraved with the “4810” logo (dated 1995), while the cap features the “Montblanc” logo alongside the writer's signature, with the Montblanc emblem inlaid at the top.

In 1995, Montblanc launched a limited edition set in honour of Voltaire (1694-1778), the pen name of François-Marie Arouet, a French Enlightenment writer, philosopher, satirist, and historian. This release marks the fourth edition of Montblanc’s “Writer’s Edition”, comprising a total of 20,000 pieces. Born into wealth, Voltaire was a man of social conscience, advocating for freedom of thought through his controversial writings. Renowned as the Father of Enlightenment, he made lasting contributions with his sharp wit and critiques of Christianity, especially the Roman Catholic Church, as well as his freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the separation of church and state.
