Notes
In 2002, Montblanc launched a limited edition pen to honour Francis Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940), an American novelist and essayist recognised as a pivotal figure of the Jazz Age. This release marks the eleventh edition in its “Writers Edition” series, with a total of 18,500 pieces. Best known for his classic, The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald masterfully depicted the era’s extravagance and popularised the term "Jazz Age."
The pen’s design reflects the vibrant spirit of Fitzgerald's Jazz Age, featuring a white shimmering body contrasted with black accents and enhanced by bands of sterling silver. While he found success in the 1920s, it was only after his death that he gained widespread acclaim, solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century. Montblanc honours his enduring impact on literature and culture with the Francis Scott Fitzgerald Edition of writing instruments, serving as a dazzling tribute to this extravagant epoch.
