A special set of two writing instruments: 1) Rose Collection Lancaster Fountain Pen: Limited Edition. The barrel, cap and clip are crafted from 925 sterling silver, adorned with rose motifs as the central theme. The design draws inspiration from the 30 Years’ War of the Roses between the House of York and House of Lancaster for the throne, symbolising their heraldic badges. The cylindrical body is further complemented by fine engravings of Greek-style decorations. The two-tone platinum-plated 18K gold nib features the logo, which is also inlaid on the cap and barrel. 2) Rose Collection York Ballpoint Pen. Crafted in 925 sterling silver, the octagonal pen features a fine rose engraving on the upper part of the clip and a rotary sphere on the lower part, and the logo inlaid on the cap.

Notes

The Rose collection

In 1994, Montegrappa commemorated the historic rivalry between the Yorks and Lancasters (1445-1485) with the Roses collection. As descendants of the Plantagenets, the pen showcases intricate floral and heraldic designs, featuring the white rose of the Yorks and the red rose of the Lancasters adorning the coats of arms of both houses. The pen's shape reflects this division: an octagonal design represents the annual edition dedicated to the Yorks, while the cylindrical fountain pen symbolizes the Lancasters, embodying the enduring separation between these two prominent British families.
