Rolex produced these watches for Panerai in Florence to their specification, for use by the Italian military and other Italian specialist dive units. The term ?Luminor? on the dial refers to the luminous substance used to ensure that the dial was legible under even the lowest levels of light. In the Rolex spare parts catalogue the three Rolex for Panerai references are listed as follows: Ref. 6152 - 16???, Ref. 6152/1 - 16??? and Ref. 6154 - 16???. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, pp. 124, 125.
