This watch is No. 24 of this new limited series of 100 examples, although the hack of the watch indicates No. 24/200. The Panerai Luminor watch is a reissue, based on the original design drawings or the timepiece designed and produced by Panerai for the Italian Navy, in the years 40's and used by the Navy's Assault Forces in enterprises become legendary. The Luminor Submersible derives from the above mentioned Luminor and maintain, the same case and dial with an excellent visibility in the Clark. This particular model has been the protagonist, with Sylvester Stallone, in the Daylight movie and, for this use, was expressly manufactured in a special edition as requested by Mr. Stallone. On the dial of the watch, in effect, there is the mark Slytech Panerai (Sly is the well known nickname of Sylvester Stallone) a nd on the base, Stallonc's signature and the writing: Special Edition Sylvester Stallone. The dials of the first Pancrai watches, in the 1940's, were made with diverse superposed plates fitted with each other : the bottom plate was luminous with "Radiomir" or "Luminor". 'fhe dial plate was pierced, so that the numbers were visible through the slots. Panerai very soon noticed that Radiomir was slightly radioactive, so they changed for Luminor. The numerals, indexes and hands of the present model are made with tritium, which has no radioactive effect at all.
