Fine and historically interesting, stainless steel presentation watch with ?24 hour?
dial. Accompanied by a framed picture of a soldier, a commemorative medal from
World War I and a document by Bulgaria´s then Ministry of War confirming the awarding of the medal
in 1940. This watch is sold with a box, Certificate of Authenticity and 2-year Omega guarantee.

Notes
The commemorative medal that comes with this lot was awarded to a Mr. Popov Alexiev for service to the
country during the 1915-18 war, according to the accompanying document. Although World War I began
in 1914, Bulgaria joined the Allied Powers only in October 1915, which explains the dates given on the
certificate. The document, which states that His Highness Bulgarian Tzar Boris III thanked the soldier for his
participation, was issued on May 9, 1940 by the Bulgarian Ministry of War and bears the signature of a
lieutenant-general.
This watch is from a series of railway watches delivered to Bulgaria, which were later used as presentation
watches to soldiers of the first World War.
