Notes

Abd al-Aziz Ibibn Saud Born in Riyad around 1880, where he died in 1953, Abd al-Aziz III ibn Saud was the descendant of Mohammed ibn Saud (1735-1765), the head of the reigning dynasty of the Najd emirate. He was King of Najd and Hijaz from 1927 to 1932, and King of Saudi Arabia from 1932 until his death in 1953. He created the kingdom of Saudi Arabia by uniting several provinces under his rule. This vast region in the Arabian Peninsula, between the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf, was soon to become one of the riches countries in the world. Biographical information courtesy of Arnaud Tellier.
