Notes

Ref. ST 345.0808 First made in a numbered series in 1980, this watch was produced to commemorate the Apollo XI lunar landing. As many collectors had expressed an interest Omega used a highly decorated version of the Cal. 861, the Cal. 863. This caliber is gilt, with ?fausses cotes? decoration and a special crystal back to show off the movement. It is interesting to note that the case backs of the commemorative version are engraved ?Apollo XI, Speedmaster, Blank or No. Axxxx, First Watch Worn On The Moon?. In 1987 the display back model became part of the standard production and it is at this time that the word ?Professional? was added to the case back.
