Made in a limited edition of 50 examples in 2000 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the US-Soviet space rendez-vous on July 17, 1975. Very fine and rare, asymmetric, self-winding, gentleman`s 18K yellow gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, 12-hour and 30-minute registers, tachometer. Accompanied by the original certificate signed by Stephen Urquhart, Alexei Leonov, and Thomas Stafford. This watch is sold with a box, Certificate of Authenticity, and a 2-year Omega guarantee.

Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, lyre lugs, integral crown and pusher guard, black bezel with tachometer scale graduated to 500 UPH, screw-down back with ?Speedmaster? logo, numbered and engraved ?25th anniversary Apollo-Soyuz?, sapphire crystal. D. Black with gold baton indexes with luminous dots, outer minute/seconds and 1/5th seconds divisions, sunk subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers. Luminous gold ?baton? hands. M. Cal. 1863, rhodium-plated, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 42 mm Thickness 14.5 mm.

The present watch was made in 50 examples in 2000, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the historic hand-shake during the Apollo-Soyuz mission. On July 15, 1975, Soyuz 19 was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, while Apollo 18 was launched two days later. From opposite sides of the docking hatch two men appeared: Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Stafford (USA) and Lt. Gen. Alexei A. Leonov (Russia), each wearing the same watch: the Omega Speedmaster Professional.
