The Omega ?Marine? line was launched in 1932 and the case was patented as No. 146.310, granted on March 10, 1930. The ?Marine? was the first watch to be tested at a depth exceeding 70 meters. In 1936 an Omega ?Marine? descended to a depth of 73 meters for 30 minutes in cold Lac Léman; the temperature at maximum depth was 5 degrees Centigrade. Upon returning to the surface, the watch was in perfect working order.
