Ref. BA 145022
The Speedmaster Apollo XI 1969, the "first watch worn on the moon,? was created to commemorate the most important event of modern history. This model was launched in autumn 1969. Twenty-eight watches in this series bore the inscription ?To mark man's conquest of space with time, through time, on time? along with the receiver?s name, and were presented to each of the astronauts then active, as well as to President Nixon and Vice President Spiro Agnew, at a gala dinner on November 25, 1969 in Houston. The remaining watches in the series bore the inscription ?Omega Speedmaster - Apollo XI 1969 - The First Watch Worn on the Moon?.
