Made in a limited edition of 500 examples for the Italian market in 1998. Fine and rare, asymmetric, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, 12-hour and 30-minute registers, black bezel with tachometer, transparent back and a stainless steel Omega bracelet with deployant clasp. Accompanied by the original fitted box, certificate, guarantee and extra links.

Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, lyre lugs, integral crown and pusher guard, black bezel with tachometer graduated to 500 UPH, screw-down transparent back numbered and engraved: ?Speedmaster Professional ? Limited Edition?. D. White with painted luminous baton indexes set in a black frame, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer minute and 1/5th seconds division. Luminous blackened baton hands. M. Cal. 1863, rhodium-plated, fausses-cotes decoration, l8 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 42 mm. Thickness 14.3 mm. Approx overall length 190 mm.

Ref. ST 345.0818 was produced in a limited edition of 500 for the Italian market in 1998, with two dial variations: bicolor silver and black, or white as in the present lot. This reference was the first to use the new caliber 1863 movement. Caliber 1863 is identical to calibre 863, except that it is rhodiumplated. Omega uses 4-digit caliber numbers starting with a 1 (i.e. caliber 1863) to indicate the movement is rhodium-plated as opposed to pink or yellow gold plated (i.e. caliber 863).
