OMEGA JUMPING CENTER SECONDS DELUXE PRECISION TABLE CLOCK ? MARE OCEANO Omega, Swiss, No. 10823865. Made circa 1956. Fine and very rare, square, 8-day going, precision, gilt brass table chronometer clock with jumping center seconds, stop feature for exact setting and polychrome lacquer dial.

C. Square, gold-plated, sides with large gadroons, turned feet, hinged back door. D. Polychrome lacquered in the manner of cloisonne enamel, depicting the ocean with radiating points of the compass with mermaids, whales and galleons, on one shore a lady waves adieu, on the other, two men erect a cross, black background. Gilt fancy hands. M. Cal. 59.8-D SCS, copper-colored, 20 jewels, indirect center seconds mounted on the backplate, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 13 x 13 x 4.9 cm.

The 59 8-D SCS caliber (59 mm, 8 days, jumping center seconds) was patented on the 17th August 1942 (Swiss patent No. 229234), published January 3rd,1944 under the title (in French) ?Timekeeper with Center Seconds?.
