OMEGA REF. 145022-69 APOLLO XI ? YELLOW GOLD "EARLY TYPE CASEBACK ENGRAVING" Omega, "Speedmaster Professional, Apollo XI," No. 081, movement No. 28080650, Ref. 145022-69. Made in 1969 in a limited edition of 1014 examples made between 1969-1972. Fine and rare, early series number, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and an 18K yellow gold Omega link bracelet with deployant clasp. Accompanied by an Omega service box and service receipt.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, dust cover, screweddown case back engraved: Apollo XI 1969 The First Watch Worn On The Moon, tachometer graduation on the black bezel to 500 UPH, lyre lugs. D. Brushed yellow gold with applied yellow gold and black inlay indexes, outer 1/5th seconds track, subsidiary sunk guilloche dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers. Yellow gold and black baton hands. M. Cal. 861, copper-colored, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, selfcompensating fl at balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 42 mm. Thickness 14 mm.

Notes

The present watch is one of the earlier numbers of the series and as such the back is simply engraved, later on the inscription was made bolder by infi lling with maroon coloring. Watch No. 079 of this series is illustrated and discussed in : "Omega, A Journey Through Time", 2007, p. 605.
