Very fine and rare limited production, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold gentleman?s wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and an 18K yellow gold Omega link bracelet. Accompanied by the original fitted box.

Cal. 861, gilt brass, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallicbalance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 42 mm. Notes

Created to commemorate the most important event of the 20th century, this model was manufactured beginning in autumn 1969, the first in a special series of 28 numbered pieces. Bearing the inscription "To mark man's conquest of space with time, through time, on time", along with the receiver's name, it was given to each of the astronauts then active at a gala dinner on November 25, 1969 , at Houston?s Hotel Warwick. Due to its success, a total of 1,014 of this watch model was produced until 1972. The pieces bear the inscription? Omega Speedmaster-Apollo XI- 1969, the first watch to be worn on the moon?.
