Notes

Limited-edition Omega De Ville Rattrapante With a revolutionary design both inside and out, the new Omega De Ville Rattrapante combines the benefits of the brand?s proprietary Co-Axial Escapement technology with a prestigious split-seconds chronograph mechanism to produce a top-of-the range chronograph. Housed in the familiar De Ville Co-Axial case, its individualistic new dial design deliberately breaks away from the norm to set it apart as a watch of distinction. The exclusive limited-edition version in platinum 950 is laced with luxury and has a revolutionary new means of personalisation. Omega?s masterstroke for this limited-edition model is a new way of personalising each watch, with the individual limited number as the counterweight of the chronograph seconds hand. In a revolutionary use of nanotechnology in watchmaking, the watch?s number is actually ?grown? on the counterweight of the seconds hand in electroformed nickel. This means that each watch has its own unique hand bearing its own individual number, with the red-tipped split-seconds hand bearing the number of the total production run. Therefore, when both hands are at rest or moving in synchronisation the two counterweights together read (00x/107). The quantity of 107 is actually the number of years that have passed since Omega launched its first chronograph calibre in 1898, the 19?? CHRO, which was used in the more correctly named Chronoscope. The limited-edition De Ville Rattrapante in platinum will be available exclusively from Omega flagship stores, with the first being offered for sale here. Omega is one of the prestige watch brands of the Swatch Group, the world?s biggest watchmaking group, based in Biel, Switzerland. Omega watches are sold in over 130 countries through a network of specially selected authorised agents and covered by an international warranty. Ever since its foundation in 1848, Omega has set the pace in watchmaking history, launching world-premieres, winning numerous design awards, setting precision records and even producing the only watch to be flight-qualified by NASA for use in outer space. This has built up a solid character for the brand, which is today represented internationally by top personalities. The Omega watch collection consists of four main distinct lines, each with its own individual character, from the elegant Constellation dress watches to the robust and sporty Seamaster, the legendary Speedmaster chronographs and the classic look of the Omega De Ville. The company also has an unparalleled record in sports timekeeping: after becoming the first company to be official timekeeper of all Olympic Game disciplines at Los Angeles in 1932, Omega went on to be official timekeeper at 21 Olympic Games and will continue this role at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympic Games, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
