Following the world record sale of the Ploprof prototype in our last November 8th, 2020 sale (lot 59) Antiquorum is proud to offer another, never offered on the market, test version of the Seamaster 1000.
Developed in 3 distinct series (numbered on the caseback 5-0xx, 5-1xx and 5-2xx), this recently discovered watch is part of the last series. Featuring its original dial with oval zeros, original hands and original bezel, it is a rare opportunity to enter the exclusive world of diving test watches.

The batches were delivered “internally” to a department/centre de frais that was called “special budget dive watches” within the group - SMH - and then the watches went either in batches or as single pieces - mostly in batches - to diving organizations and/or divers. A famous batch of 100 examples were delivered to the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco via Prince Rainier. That’s how Cousteau and his team got their Seamaster 1000s to wear)
PloProfs had even batch numbers (the “4-xxx” series) and Seamasters 1000s had uneven ones (the “5-xxx”).
