Presented at the Basel fair in 1970, Omega exhibited 42 examples of the Electroquartz all set at the exact same time and the exact same second to show the precision of the Beta 21. Made as a pre-series, the 42 first examples all in gold were offered at a price of CHF 5’400, the same price as a Volkswagen car and were all sold before the end of the fair.
