Notes

Omega Speedmaster Ref. 2915 was produced between 1957 and 1959 in three references: 2915-1, 2915-2 & 2915-3. Ref. -1 & -2 both came with the broad arrow hands, steel tachymeter, not to mention the cal. 321 which is known for its precision, stability and durability. These components built a solid foundation for the Speedmaster collection’s brightest star: the Moonwatch- the official watch worn by Apollo 11 astronauts during history’s first moon landing. This example of 2915-1 was produced around 1957, as confirmed by the early serial 15’499,XXX, featuring broad arrow hand, steel base1000 tachymeter, a caramel-colour dial with an oval “O” . As it is often the case the lume in the hands and on the indexes has been redone at some point, like the bezel that is a service one as the originals had a tendency to wear and age badly. Kept in excellent condition, this example is definitely the must-have for collectors.
