Notes

Continuing the legacy of the first Speedmasters reference 2915, the 2998 was launched in 1959 now featuring the famous black bezel introduced on the late 2915-3.

This particular example is a 2998-5 and was sold to Hong Kong in 1962. Fitted with its original semi-elastic Omega bracelet reference 7912 and its correct 6 end links and is correctly dated 1.62, it has been kept in excellent overall condition showing a clear double bevelled caseback as well a a distinct Seahorse on the caseback as well as the correct nicely faded diagonal dot 70 bezel. The stepped dial is fully original showing only light oxydation around the indexes and perfect matching lume to the indexes and hour/minute hands.
