Designed as a tribute to golfer Rory McIlroy, this version of the “Speedmaster” reveals some unique design elements. In particular, the watch celebrates McIlroy’s record-breaking score of 61 at Royal Portrush Golf Club at the age of 16, which helped launch his career.
True to the original 1957 model, this new edition features a champagne sunburst dial in PVD-coated yellow gold. It is enhanced by a blackened rim, a gold decal minute track and a date window at 6 o'clock. The dial also features a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock and a chronograph hour and minute counter at 3 o’clock, which reveal the numerals 16 and 61 when exposed to UV light. The satin-finished bezel with tachometric scale is mounted on a 41.5 mm. 18K yellow gold case with matching bracelet. The chronograph is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 9301.
