Notes

Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 42 mm. THICKNESS 14 mm. Approx. overall length 190 mm. The dial of this watch is known as a "Chocolate Dial" due to the even change of color from black to chocolate brown. Consigned from a private owner, the present watch is an excellent and original example and must be one of the last of the pre-moon Speedmasters to have been made. This watch is further enhanced by the original bracelet and the survival of the original box and guarantee. Sold via a retailer in Buenos Aires in 1971, this watch is interestingly very close in number to another example with chocolate dial (No. 29604454) sold by Antiquorum, "Omegamania", April 15, 2007, lot 210 (30,680 CHF). REF. ST 145.022-74 The ST 145.022 series of references was launched in 1968, and was the first of the Speedmasters to be fitted with caliber 861.
