Notes

The Certificate of Authenticity (No. 40 083), dated February 23, 2021, mentioned that this watch was delivered in Switzerland; with the remarks:
“It is part of a batch especially developed to be tested by astronauts and Space Shuttle pilots around 1978, codenamed “ALASKA IV” at the time.
The present watch does not bear an engraved two-digit number on the caseback, indicating a model tested within the technical office of OMEGA instead of Houston, USA delivery.
The LCD screen of the modified calibre 1621 was illuminated by two flat Tritium stripes instead of the regular bulb. The crystal of the present watch is original to its prototype state and omits the word “Light” at 3 o’clock that is found on the regular production models.”
