Notes

The present watch is part of a batch especially developed to be tested by astronauts and Space Shuttle pilots around 1978, codenamed “ALASKA IV” at the time. It does not bear an engraved two-digit number on the case-back, indicating a model tested within the technical office of OMEGA ahead a of Houston, USA, delivery.

The LCD screen of the modified calibre 1621 was illuminated by two flat Tritium stripes instead of the regular bulb. The crystal of the present watch is original to its prototype state and omits the word “Light” at 3 o’clock that is found on the regular production models.
