PARMIGIANI BUGATTI NO. 01 WHITE GOLD Parmigiani Fleurier, "Bugatti - Type 370," No. 01/50, case No. 11801. Made in a limited edition of 50 pieces circa 2004. Sold on Christmas 2004. Extremely fine, rare and unusual, rectangular curved, visible movement constructed in the shape of an automotive engine encased in an oval-shaped cylinder, 18K white gold driver's wristwatch with 10-day autonomy (displayed on a graduated drum) and an 18K white gold Parmigiani buckle. Accompanied by the original fitted box, an additionnal 18k white gold PF deployant clasp and international guarantee.

Eight-body, solid, polished, sapphire crystals on top, sides and back to view the movement, case back with 4 screws. Dark red with applied luminous white gold baton indexes on a matte silver outer reserve. Luminous white gold alpha hands. Cal. PF 370 oval mounted on silent blocks, rhodium-plated, 37 jewels, straight- line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, double-barrel.

Dial, case and movement signed. DIM. 32 x 50 mm. THICKNESS 19 mm. Launched in 2006 as a revolutionary advancement in watchmaking, the movement used a lateral, rather than vertical, bridge formation allowing for a larger barrel and 10-day power reserve. The watch is both wound and set to the underside via specially designed nodes and comes complete with a « starter key ». The key, in the form of a pen, can itself be wound and then inserted into the winding hole to automatically wind the watch, the reverse end of the pen is used to set the time. Unlike anything seen previously both in mechanics and aesthetics the movement can be viewed while the watch is worn creating a functional work of art for your wrist. The Bugatti Type 370 was inspired by the world's fastest road car of the same name and can be considered the ultimate driver's watch.
