18K yellow gold, manual-winding, round-shaped, Art Deco gentleman's wristwatch, hinged case-back, officier-type screwed lugs; white enamel dial with luminescent Arabic numerals. Movement also based on the Swiss invention paten.. 2 680, delivered on September 27 1890, to Patek, Philippe & Cie, Geneva, for a "Remontoir avec mise à l'heure perfectionné" (the definitive version of the keyless-winding and setting device), and, on the US design paten.. 20 483, delivered on January 13, 1891, to Adrien Philippe, Geneva, for a "Watch bridges for Watch-Movements". Cuvette engraved in taille-douce (fine cut) with the mention "CHRONOMETRO GONDOLO / Fabricado expressamente para Gondolo & Labouriau Relojoeiros / RIO-DE-JANEIRO".

Chronometro Gondolo The Chronometro Gondolo were exclusively produced by Patek Philippe for the firm Gondolo & Labouriau ó Relojoeiros, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), since 1902. They had to incorporate the following technical details to fulfil the requirements of this important retailer: 9K gold wheel train, Straight line lever escapement à moustaches, 18, 19, 20 or even 21 jewels, Patek Philippe micrometric index patented on 13 January 1891, Mainspring barrel arbor fitted with a winding square. Chronometro Gondolo could be made in different dimensions, from 10 to 22''', with different cases, dial and hands. Some were also produced with chronograph or centre-seconds. Very few were made as wristwatches. Patek Philippe never produced other watches with a gold train of wheel.
