Patek Philippe & Cie., Geneve, No. 177532, case No. 411101, made in 1919, sold on 15th June 1927. Very fine 18 ct. gold keyless pocket chronometer awarded the third prize at the Geneva Astronomical Observatory for the timing contest in 1925.

C. Four body, massive, "demi-bassine", polished, a small monogram engraved on the back. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with a dedication dated 1927. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 18"', "Extra quality", rhodium plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 21 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, brass-invar Guillaume balance, "Extra" adjustment by F. Modoux, blued steel Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In very good condition, with certificate and photocopies of the records of the timing contest. Diam. 50 mm.

Timing Contest : - Mean average daily rate + / - 0.18 - Restart period + 0.16 - Error of compensation per degree C + / - 0.014 - Mean error in 6 positions + / - 0.81 With 736 marks, this chronometer was the 10th out of 37/classified with more of 600. The first in the trial game 846 and the last 601, on a possible maximum of 1000. 53 chronometer were entered for the contest.
