"Split-Seconds" Patek, Philippe & Co., Genève, No. 80992. Made for M. Scooler, New Orleans, LA., circa 1888. Very fine 18K pink gold keyless pocket watch with split seconds chronograph. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives.
C. Four-body, "bassine", solid, polished, chronograph locking slide in the band. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and concentric fifths of seconds track, red painted five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds with red painted ten second numerals. Blued steel "Spade" hands. M. 19''', rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes"decoration, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, chronograph activated by depressing the winding crown and by a button in the band. Movement signed, dial signed by the retailer, case numbered. Diam. 53 mm.
