"Split-Seconds" Patek Philippe, Geneva, movement No. 48005, retailed by Tiffany & Co. Made circa 1880. Fine and rare, 18K yellow gold keyless pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph and regulator dial.
C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", engine turned, reeded band, hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with hour and minute dial at 3 with radial Roman numerals and outer minute track, outer seconds and fifth of a second chronograph track with red Arabic five seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds at 9. Blued-steel "spade" hands. M. 43 mm (19'''), nickel, half-plate, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 26 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued-steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, chronograph activated by a button in the crown, the split seconds by a button in the band. Dial, case, and movement signed. Diam. 53 mm.
