Very fine 18 ct. gold hunting cased keyless pocket chronometer, awarded the "Mention honorable" at the Geneva Astronomical Observatory timing contest 1911-1912. In original fitted box, with certificate.

C. Four body, massive, «demi-bassine», polished. Gold cuvette engraved Chronomètre de hante précision. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, outer red Arabic minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold «Louis XV» hands. M. 19"', «Extra quality», rhodium plated, «fausses côtes» decoration, 21 jewels, counterpoised straight fine lever escapement, brass-Elinvar Guillaume balance, «Extra» adjustment by C. Batifolier, Elinvar Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In very good condition, with photocopies of the records of the timing contest. Diam.51 mm.

Timing Contest : - Mean average daily rate +/- 0,23 - Restart period + 0,40 - Error of compensation per degree C +/- 0,061 - Mean error in 6 positions +/- 0,23 With 690 marks, this chronometer was the 64th out of 102 classified with more than 600 marks. The first one with 866 and the last one with 600, the maximum being 1000 marks. Hunting cased pocket chronometers with Bulletin d'Observatoire are extremely rare.
